Vietnam

While the infrastructure of Vietnam may seem lacking (by western standards), there is every indication that the vigor, spirit, intelligence, humor and diligence of the people will soon overcome the legacy of centuries of foreign domination and more recent military damage.  The physical and psychological scars of civil and external wars remain in places but strong people also remain - seemingly open, able and joyful.  This is a beautiful, striving country full of people getting about the business of building a nation.  Visit if you can; you will not be sorry.  (Click a thumbnail image once to enlarge; click within the left or right of the image to advance or go back - or use your right and left arrows.)
