Mexico - dipping a toe

Mexico is large and diverse - with a population of about 130 million people.  I have experienced only a small part of it so I cannot reasonably draw broad conclusions.  But what I did see left me with an impression of a gracious, hard-working, hustling and, often, playful people - with a long and proud heritage predating the Christian era.  Yes there is some crime, some poverty; there is danger in places - so do your homework before traveling.  On the up side, there is a marvelous mix of old and new architecture, parks, public art (classical and whimsical), fountains, music, dancing in the streets, food - and a wonderful patchwork of colors.
